P90X - Day 2 - Plyometrics

Sixty minutes of hard core cardio, hopping around like crazy people, we almost made it through the whole thing but mostly I pooped out at the end. Then afterwards we drank the yummy recovery drink shake thingie with banana...that was pretty yum.

Plyometrics was pretty tough but definitely way more fun then Day 1. Tomorrow is more arms and stuff...

It is now midnight and I still have dishes to do before I drag my butt upstairs to the shower. Nite all!

P90X Day 1 - The Good and the Ugly

OK so the good news is, I got new shoes! That is the ONLY upside on P90X Day 1, cute new kicks. You need cross trainers and not just normal regular shoes in order to torture yourself in unspeakable ways. My loving husband bought them for me and so at least in the horrendous "before" pics my feet look good.

To start, we spent a half million dollars on healthy food and packed the fridge.

We ate what felt like a ton of food but still seemed to be hungry. Breakfast consisted of SIX egg whites in an omelet with tomatoes, mushrooms, and onions. We also ate a cup of cottage cheese and fresh squeezed orange juice.

We had homemade veggie soup and chicken salad for lunch and swordfish, asparagus, and rice for dinner. The snack for the day was 30 pistachios. Thirty sounds like a lot, but it is so not. We drank a lot of water , Crystal Light, and black coffee with Splenda.

Overall we had a lot of great food to eat. I just need to retrain my Weight Watcher brain that all this food is actually fuel that I MUST eat in order to have maximum performance in this new style of exercise.

By 8:30 pm we finally got ourselves ready to start the first workout. This was after we took the fantastic and charming "before" pictures. I am very hesitant to share them because we look very much in need a of a program such as this. I am mortified that I gained so much weight back already. But this is a different day and a different type of training and I am so open to the possibilities.

This program is VERY VERY hard. If you want a kick ass body, you will have to work VERY VERY hard for it! The most important thing, as with everything in life is, never ever ever give up, even if you cry, like I did.

Weight Loss and Gain

Before Rob got back from Haiti, 2 months ago, I was a mere 2 pounds away from my weight loss goal of 145. Since then I have lost track of my schedule. I have not made time for myself. I have started eating copious amounts of fattening and fatty foods. I have only gotten on my cardio machine twice! In light of this fact, I have weighed in this morning at 167.4 pounds.

I am ashamed and disappointed in myself. I've released personal control of myself to the whims of the weaker part of me. It kind of makes me sad.

In 2000, I lost 40 pounds and walked a marathon in Ireland. After that I moved, lost track of myself, my schedule, my weight and ballooned up again before I even realized it. I WILL NOT allow that to happen to me again. In the past year of weight loss and being a thinner me I had found my stride and I liked it there. I want to back and do it even better.

Today Rob and I start a new journey together. While he could not sleep a couple of weeks ago he purchased the P90X fitness plan from late night TV. he needed something for himself to help him PT while he is working at this new job. He bought it to help himself get back into shape and I suspect in his own way to help me too. He sees how I have been backsliding, though he would never say anything to me.

I plan to start writing and sharing in this adventure with you. It should be torturous hell but I think that is really what I need. We will have lovely phat photos to share with you. I will give you the "real" scoop on what it is like to P90X. I'm kind of freaked out because I can hardly do a push up and definitely not a pull up. I am super excited though because Rob and I are doing it together.

He spent the whole day cooking yesterday because we are going to follow the plan 100% to the max. In 90 days I am going to have muscles for the first time ever!

So please, follow along with me. Invite your friends...this could get interesting. Before pictures to follow.

Let's Schedule Every Second

Having a moment where I want to pull out my hair. Being a faux single Mom is hard work. I want to do everything and do it right. I want to play with the kids and make good choices for them. I want to take care of myself and eat well and exercise. I want to be here for my husband whenever he can talk or text. I want to build my Scentsy business and make it our lifesaver. I want to be everything to everybody and I don’t know how. I’m doing a little of all of this and it all just feel so half assed to me. None of it is good enough. My floors are dirty. My budget is incomplete. There is not enough money to pay everything. I’ve gained 4 pounds.

The baby is crying in her crib. Vin keep asking to eat but then eats nothing that I give him. Short of trying to schedule every moment of my day and write everything down like a to do list I don’t know how to get a grip.

Plus how stupid would that be? Maybe not too stupid? At least that will give me something to strive for. A way to make order out of the chaos….but seriously…eat now, exercise now, relax now, play now, sex now, bathe now, work now, clean now…knowing me then I would become obsessed with the schedule.

I just know that I am becoming short tempered and ineffective in every duty that I have…Mother, Wife, Housekeeper, Scentsy Director, Michelle…other people may not see it but I feel it. I am not as effective as I could be. I am not giving the best of myself to any one thing. I need to do that. My life is filled with things and people that I love. None of it is a burden. I just wish I had a magic answer that helps to get it all in place.

I need to start blogging again just to get my thoughts out there and help me organize. I need to reopen that avenue of sharing. It will help me to focus I think. Ok, add that to the list!!

Happy 3rd Birthday Vincent!

Vincent had his 3rd birthday this past Monday.

We had a quiet little family party for him on Sunday night. ..And by party I mean that all four of us ate birthday cake for dinner until we were sick…Oh it’s great to make the rules!

Don't Mind the Weight

I have not written too much lately and I am very sorry. I need quiet in order to do so and that is a rare thing in this house. I have things I want to kick around with you but have not been able to slow down and clear my mind.

We are getting ready to leave for our vacation next week and I wanted to post an update on my weight loss before we go. I am sure that 20 days of vacation, 1 cruise, and my Italian family is not conducive to continued weight loss but I'm going to try my darnedest.

To date I have lost 23 pounds and bunches of inches. I can't wait to buy some new clothes when we get back to the states!

So here are my before and right now pics just so you can get an idea of the improvement. I am quite honestly SHOCKED! I still feel as fat as ever and get very frustrated with myself and the numbers on the scale. I would still like to loose about 17-22 more pounds.

I'm doing a very good job and trying to keep myself motivated. I know that I will be able to reach my goal as long as I stay focused. The most important thing for me to realize is that I am not, nor will I ever be perfect and I need to start looking at myself and my accomplishments realistically.

So, here you go...photo time...

Happy Waffle Day Everyone!

Good Morning and Welcome to Waffle Day!

Waffle Day is the celebrated weekend day where we all get up early, sit around in our pajamas, and load up on carbs and sugar. It is a blessed occasion and time honored family event.

Today is extra special because…

Daddy is awake (sort of) before noon.

Vivi is eating her very first waffle.

Vin is ordering more and more waffles which he will never eat,
except for a few crispy edges.

And even Mommy ate one!
(I used spray butter and real maple syrup but still yummy.)

Tomorrow, on your Sunday, the Schrock Family invites you to keep the waffle festival alive and join us in a Waffle Day celebration!!

Come on, you know you want to!
