Butterfly Paradise - Ryugujo Butterfly Garden

Today we went to the Ryugujo Butterfly Garden in northern Okinawa. We had a great time in the butterfly house. At first glance we did not see any butterflies but then all of a sudden they were everywhere. They were stuck on trees, plants, flowers, and even on us!

The Oogomadara (Tree Nymph Butterfly)

Vincent may look completely disinterested, but don't let the clever little devil fool you...within seconds of this picture he turned around and grabbed the butterfly off Rob's finger. He was holding it by one wing screaming "ohhhhh ohhhhh" while a group of old Japanese men laughed and cheered him on. Apparently, a baby nearly crushing (or eating, God forbid) a glorious butterfly is funny to old Japanese men. I was horrified. Rob gently removed the pretty little thing from the evil baby's grasp and released it back into its faux natural habitat. She was unharmed; disaster averted.

World Premier Video: The Alphabet Man

I finally got him to sit still long enough to video him saying his letters and numbers. Sitting still is a relative concept though because you can hear his feet thump, thump, thumping as he kicks the chair while he talks.

We think he is a genius and are all puffed up with pride. It is also kind of scary to think if he is this smart now, at 18 months, what is he going to be like as he gets older. Perhaps he will be a precocious, chatty, smart-alec, handful…like his father...or maybe his mother but I did not just admit that out loud! So ladies and gentlemen...without further ado...the one, the only...

International Man of Mystery

The family will be taking a vacation in May and returning to the states. In order to do that we had to get Vincent a tourist passport. I can't believe how much he has grown and changed since his government issued passport when he was 3 months old.
